ZFA Structural Engineers has been committed to community development and enrichment in Sonoma County and beyond for over 40 years. This commitment extends to rebuilding Sonoma and Napa counties in the aftermath of the 2017 fire storm. Our staff has contributed to this effort in multiple ways including: initial site reviews to facilitate cleanup efforts; providing information to homeowners and the local architectural community on the rebuilding process; research and publication of preliminary foundation review recommendations with another local structural engineering firm; and contributed to Santa Rosa City and Sonoma County policy development regarding reuse of foundations in the post fire rebuild effort.

ZFA designs residential, commercial, public, and hospitality projects that use cutting edge building materials, alternative building methods and creative detailing solutions. Our holistic and collaborative design team approach means that sustainable design is embedded into our review, analysis, and design of every project and an essential contribution to each solution. The firm currently includes 10 LEED™ Accredited Professionals and contributes to the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California (SEAONC) Sustainable Design Committee.

Mendocino Forest Products Company, LLC (MFP), is a leading manufacturer and distributor of environmentally certified redwood decking, fencing, landscaping, timbers, and dimensional lumber products, as well as environmentally certified Douglas-fir dimensional lumber. Through its partnership with The Home Depot, the company supplies beautiful redwood and Douglas-fir lumber products to customers throughout California and the western U.S.

Formed in July 1998, MFP and sister company, Mendocino Redwood Company, LLC (MRC®), work together to supply the marketplace with environmentally responsible lumber and timbers. MRC owns 228,800 acres (350 square miles) of timberlands in Mendocino and Sonoma Counties in California. MRC supplies MFP with raw materials in the form of redwood and Douglas-fir logs.
