Reed Walker

Reed heads up design and production at Intermodal Structures.
Intermodal Structures, “IMS”, has designed a 3 bedroom, 1 bath transitional housing unit (IMS.TRU) for fire victims that would like to return to their property while their permanent home is being rebuilt.
IMS also designs and builds Future Proof permanent and re-locatable buildings including classrooms, office buildings, medical clinics and multifamily housing. Our “100-year” modular building design is a heavy steel, moment frame system that can be assembled in 1,2 or 3 story configurations as well as be reconfigured by adding or removing floors.
Reed has over 30 years of experience as a general contractor and project manager specializing in Modular Manufacturing. As a pioneer in the new modern modular pre-fab construction industry, he cofounded M4 Structures, a factory based producer of homes and schools located at Sonoma Mountain Village, proving that new techniques offer a more efficient and faster alternative to site-built construction. Partnering with Codding Steel Frame Solutions, M4 built many of the Smart Panels for Project Frog including the Crissy Field Center and Hunters Point Community Center. Prior to founding M4 Structures, he worked with Modtech Holdings to launch and grow their modular residential group, selling to companies such as Michelle Kaufman Designs and LivingHomes. He built two of the modern modular industry’s most acclaimed projects: Wired Magazine’s Home of the Year by Living Homes and Builder Magazine’s International Builder’s Show Home in the Las Vegas convention center also by Living Homes.
