Amy has nearly 20 years of experience in residential construction (non-profit and for profit) with working knowledge of all trades and phases of construction in new construction and remodel projects. She has contributed to National and State standards for auditing and green building standards, specifications and guidelines since 2000. As a planning consultant, she has developed planning and design proposals and policies from the watershed scale to the site scale, addressing ecological and social goals through community planning in California, North Carolina, and Hawaii.
Amy brings a combination of her experience as a residential builder and planning consultant with a focus on ecologically and socially minded building to Build It Green. As Director of Policy and Technical Innovation, she leads technical standards and program design, codes and standards initiatives, and policy advocacy and supports business development for Build It Green. Amy leads program development for green building and energy efficiency programs that Build It Green supports and delivers.
Amy is a Certified Green Building Professional, a GreenPoint Rater, a LEED-H Rater, and a HERS rater, and BPI MF BA and has completed work in each capacity. She received a Master in Landscape Architecture and a Master in City Planning from UC Berkeley.
